The Origins

In 1927, Jean Carette opened a tea room on Place du Trocadéro, between Avenue Poincaré and Avenue Kléber. It soon became an essential meeting place for elegant Parisians. Amid a refined interior of gilded mirrors and chandeliers, the Parisian bourgeoisie came to savour exceptional pastries and the Maison’s first macarons.

Over the decades, Carette has become much more than a tea room: a true symbol of the Parisian art of living, a place where time seems to stand still and every visit offers a moment of sweetness and elegance.
