Nearly a century of elegance and indulgence in the heart of Paris
In 1927, Jean Carette opened a tea room on Place du Trocadéro, between avenue Poincaré and avenue Kléber. It soon became an essential meeting place for elegant Parisians. In a refined setting of gilded mirrors and chandeliers, the Parisian bourgeoisie came to savour exceptional pastries and the House's first macarons.
Over the decades, Carette has become much more than a tea room: a true symbol of the Parisian art of living, a place where time seems to stand still and every visit offers a moment of sweetness and elegance.
Since April 2010, Parisians and visitors have been able to enjoy the spirit of the House of Carette in the magnificent setting of Place des Vosges, beneath the arcades at number 25. The oldest royal square in Paris is now home to one of the Marais's finest addresses for culinary delights.
More recently, the House opened a third location on the famous Place du Tertre in Montmartre, in the heart of the artists' village, continuing its tradition of excellence in the most iconic settings in Paris.
